Across March and April 2025, we recorded three live segments on how to effectively communicate climate change. The first two conversations as part of the US Leaders' Forum and US Climate Action Summit, and the third at the Green Media Summit. Across these conversations, we hear from top voices across the nonprofit and business world to explore how communications strategies have shifted to meet communities where they are and change the narrative on climate.
In Communicating Climate Change LIVE - Part 1, we come to you from the US Leaders' Forum. Moderated by BBC's Carl Nasman, our two panels dove deep into the how and why the narrative around climate has shifted. Backed by data driven insights and community engagement efforts, panelists discussed initiatives and methods to make scientific language more digestible to wider audiences and create impact at the local level.
Panelists included:
- John Marshall, CEO, Potential Energy Coalition
- Filmona Hailemichael, Director of US Policy and Government Affairs, Global Citizen
- Benji Backer, Founder and CEO, Nature is Nonpartisan
- Abre' Conner, Director of Environmental and Climate Justice, NAACP

Moderated by our Head of North America Communications Adam Lake, we headed to LinkedIn for part two of our live Communicating Climate Change series in partnership with the Impact Communications Institute, an official event of the US Climate Action Summit. With the insights of part one in mind, we built on the conversation and brought in Climate and Health Consultant Rebecca Jacobs and Sergio Velasquez-Rose, Global Head of Strategy, Insights, and Analytics at Potential Energy Coalition.
Our panelists addressed how to turn climate into a cultural conversation, centering narratives around personal connections, and the evolving vocabulary required to move policy forward.

Adam and Wawa dive into the changing political landscape around climate and best practices for how to move the conversation forward on climate while remaining inclusive and equitable.
