Singapore, 21 May 2026 – Climate Group’s RE100 team and Climate Group China today officially launched the RE100 China Guidebook (referend as “Guidebook”) at the 2026 Asia Action Summit, provides practical guidance on renewable electricity procurement for companies operating in China.

Sam Kimmins, Director of Energy at Climate Group, said: “the Guidebook is designed to help companies not only understand the criteria but also build the confidence and capability to take action.”

The Guidebook consists of four sections:

  • RE100 Technical Criteria (Chinese version)

  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): Technical (Chinese version)

  • China Market Implementation Interpretation of RE100 Technical Criteria

  • Corporate Case Studies

The RE100 Technical Criteria (Chinese version) has been carefully localised in accordance with Chinese reading habits, while preserving the original technical terminology and the intent of the English version to the greatest extent possible.

With respect to key provisions of the technical criteria, the Guidebook provides explanations on the application of the relevant requirements in the context of China's renewal energy electricity market, thereby offering practical references for corporates.

The Guidebook features renewable electricity transition case studies from more than ten RE100 member companies including Decathlon Group, Delta Electronics, Inc., Hang Lung Properties Limited, Jinko Solar Co., Ltd., Siemens Energy Group, Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd., Tongwei Co., Ltd., Yanfeng Plastic Omnium Automotive Exterior Systems Co., Ltd., and others, across sectors includingretail & consumer goods, renewable energy, automotive, and real estate. The case studies include both international companies operating globally and Chinese companies exploring renewable electricity adoption pathways within China, providing practical reference points for businesses at different stages of their renewable energy transition journey.

Supporting China’s Growing Renewable Energy Electricity Transition

The launch comes as RE100’s presence and influence continue to expand globally and in China. More than 400 companies worldwide have joined RE100. Collectively, RE100 member companies consume more than 570 TWh of electricity annually — equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of South Korea.

In 2025 Climate Group together with China National Energy Administration (NEA) and China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute (CREEI), confirmed that China’s Green Electricity Certificates (GECs) are fully recognised by RE100.

The Guidebook is available for download via the global RE100 website and Climate Group China’s official WeChat platform.
